Does tech school count as time in a 4 year enlistment?

In other words….say you have tech school for 8 months. Is that 8 months taken out of the 4 years or does the 4 years start after tech school?

    Once you enter BMT ( boot camp ) your active duty unless your a junior in high school who is taking BMT ( boot camp ) during the summer.
