DLZ asked:

I am interested in become an ultrasound technician. I am researching various options and can’t decide the best way to become certified. Would it be better to go to college and get my associate’s degree or just go to a tech school and become certified?
What is the most appealing to a possible employer? Would they offer someone with an associate’s degree a job before they offered someone who went a tech school a job? I already have about 2 years of schooling under my belt, but they’re just random G.E. courses. I’m leaning towards the tech school because the primary focus is just on medical courses. However, I don’t want to pay for the tech school, just to be passed over for a job if it doesn’t look as good on a resume.
The tech school seems to be the best option for me now because I can focus on just the medical courses. I’m more concerned about whether I will be considered for a ultra sound job if I am just certified without an associate’s degree. I would assume that the rate of pay would not differ because of it. From what I have researched, tech school’s do require you to pass the RDMS exam, so you would be licensed.
If anyone has anymore information it would be very helpful!
Thanks so much!

I want to do 2 yrs at a tech school to get the general ed classes out of the way and then transfer to a 4 yr college to focus on my major.

Will the cost be the same when I apply to the 4 yr school, even though I already took my general ed classes? It seems like it should be cheaper because I am taking less classes at the 4 year school. Am I right?

If I were working towards an associates degree in criminal justice, how much would I get done in tech school? I’ve read that you get credit that transfers over to the air force community college.

USAF2T2 asked:

Due to practical purposes, and some other things, my girlfriend won’t be able to visit me during BMT graduation. Will she be able to visit me at Tech School over a weekend? We are planning to fly her in and have her stay in a hotel near the base. Is this possible? Are there curfews on the weekends? What kind of restrictions will there be? Will she be able to visit me on base or will I have to go off base to visit her? Any extra info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

After boot camp, can the civilian spouse live with the service member spouse at his/her tech school?
Her training is like 8 months long and she’ll be in another state. And she will be joining the Air Force.

My husband wants to join the Air Force. In order to go in w/ advanced rank, you must have at least 20 college credits. He’s not sure how many he has, but he thinks he may only have 18. My question is, will they combine his credits he already has w/ the credits he will get in tech school and give him advanced rank??

I’m just wondering what weeks of training Camp Bullis usually falls on, because I’m planning on visiting my boyfriend in tech school…And I don’t want the dates to fall while he is there. From his understanding it is weeks 9-12. Also, what day of the week do you leave for Bullis, the Sunday or Monday before or of week 9?
